“We have been camping my whole life. We have been in everything from tents to a pop-up camper, travel trailer, 5th wheel, motor home, back to travel trailer and now we are finally in a diesel pusher motor home! When we started looking for a diesel pusher, we knew we needed a bunk house because we have kids. Apparently this is not a very common thing unless you’ve got big money to spend! Our next option was to find a motor home with a pretty particular floor plan. We needed to find one with a closet on one side of the hall and the bathroom on the other side. Well, guess what? We found one!!!! A 1999 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 37WDS4. To start our bunk plans, we had to remove the closet completely. That left us with a space that was 74″ by 26″. Our water heater was in the closet so we had to make sure to start the bottom bunk above that. My husband built the frame for the beds and I painted. Next, we had to cut down mattresses to fit. My parents had 2 foam twin mattresses that were the perfect length so we only had to cut the width. My husband used an electric turkey knife. I bought 2 full size flat sheets and sewed them like a pillow case to slip the mattresses into. I also bought 2 matching shower curtains. One was to give privacy in the bathroom on the other side of the hall. The other was cut to make curtains to go in each bunk. The curtain tracks were found on eBay. Under the bottom bunk, we reused the cabinetry that was already there. Under the bottom bunk, we reused the cabinetry that was already there. Each bunk got its own 15″ flip down TV with DVD player. We ordered these from eBay. They are simply TV’s that go into a vehicle and my husband wired them in to where the existing lights were. We did not have any extra trim to trim out the bunks so we found contact paper that is super close to the same color as the rest of the wood throughout our motor home. We covered a couple of 1x6s with the contact paper to finish out the trim. Now our kids have a place to sleep!”
