RV Renovation – The 2nd Bathroom

This room has changed a lot recently. When we first got this RV I thought this layout was perfect for us. It does work out well but when living in cold weather keeping this room warm, pipes from freezing, and handling a second black tank and third grey tank it just becomes a pain in the butt! I will show you what transformations have come to the room since the beginning and what it’s turned into now. The reason there was a folding bed in the bathroom was the last summer the boys were here we hadn’t built the second bunk yet. So I bought a cheap folding bed from Goodwill and we used that during their stay. I found an image off Pinterest that inspired me for the paint colors. I also found the shower curtain at Goodwill and the curtains that are over the door. Those are actually a set of curtains and a set of grey sheets I cut up and hemmed. In the second photo you can see I removed the toilet. Like I said keeping up with a second black tank and third grey tank was just too much especially during winter. We rarely used that toilet because it clogged up so often and the tub was only used for when the boys were here or for giving the dogs a bath. But we had a constant leak issue with where the tub drain was. Couldn’t find a sealant that would stick and not peel off after several uses. I do want to eventually take out the sink area and create a flat board across so we have more counter storage in there, since we won’t be using the sink ever again. I put my folding bookcase dresser in there to keep my material for sewing. Plus that cat’s toy box and litter box are in there as well. When I painted this room I did hand sand the cabinetry. That way I knew I wouldn’t have to prime it before painting cause the paint would stick.

Does your RV have a second bathroom? Did you even know full second bathrooms existed in RV’s? Cool isn’t it! Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
