So I decided I would create a post on all things Space Saving that would work great for RV living, whether full time or just camping.
Ok. One of the first things I want to talk about are grills. There are many options out there but I have done some research and here are some that I think would work really well for RV life whether you camp or live full time as many campsites don’t come with grill options.
So the first two options are propane.
This first one by Char-Broil TRU-Infrared Patio Bistro Gas Grill. I liked this one for the fact it can hold a full-sized propane tank but is still able to be easily moved. This model seems to be perfect for an RV like a toyhauler that has a patio of some kind.
If the idea of toting around a large propane tank is daunting then here is another model that has a great amount of space on the grill but works with one of the small propane bottles. This is the Coleman RoadTrip Sport Propane Grill
If you prefer coals instead of gas, which many do, then here is an option that is still small enough to be portable. I also like the little wooden side table thats built in along with the wooden handle. It’s the Char-Griller 1515 Patio Pro Charcoal Grill
If you don’t like the idea of carrying around propane or charcoal and don’t prefer to cook with either like myself, then you could always go with an electric option. This particular one is specific for outside. But as it states in the description it provides excellent smokey flavor since you are able to add wood chips to it. It comes in Red, Black or Green but I prefer the green color myself. This is the Easy Street Lock ‘N Go Electric Grill
So moving on we are going to visit ideas for the kitchen area.
First is a bakeware set that nests in itself so it’s a big space saver especially in those smaller kitchens. This one is sold by Target. com
Here is another wonderful nesting product. And an easy way to keep all your kitchen cooking utensils all in one place. Sold by Amazon. com
Here is another cool item. These bowls nest within each other so they don’t take up a lot of space. They even come with measuring spoons. Sold by Amazon.
Then there is this collapsible colander. You can buy it on Amazon.
If you are looking for storage for your leftovers check out these awesome collapsible Tupperware containers. From The Convergent Shoppe.
If you don’t have much drawer space then these collapsible measuring cups and spoons from Amazon would be perfect for your trailer or camper!
Need something to dry your dishes in? Check out this collapsible dish drying rack from Amazon that can fold down into a slim profile and save you lots of space!
Looking for a place to throw your trash away but just don’t have the floor space for a large trash can? No problem. This one fits right inside a cabinet door. And uses regular grocery bags as trash bags. You can buy it on Amazon.
There is also this option for a trash can that will save you space when traveling. It’s a folding trash can. How cool is that? From Amazon.
There is also this great option from Amazon that you can fold up and pop out when you need it for outside trash. I have seen folks at campsites use them and they seem to be really handy!
If your looking again for cookware that will fit neatly in your small cabinet space then check out this nesting cookware set! You can even get it with induction or non induction cook tops. From Amazon. So ignore the picture I posted because apparently Camping World doesn’t carry it anymore, but Amazon has the same thing and probably less expensive too!
Now if counter space is what you’re seeking then check out these three options below.
1/3 is a medium-sized folding cart you can use when extra counter space is needed for those prepping those camping meals. Amazon.
Or you can check out this second folding cart from The Container Store.
Last but not least is my favorite. I love the extra storage space and all that prep space you get with this one. Plus its a bit less expensive also. Amazon.
Moving on to the rest of the rig. Ever thought about just needing more sleeping space? Check out these cool products that will give you just that.
First is the fold out ottoman bed. Perfect to store away during the day to create living space but folds out for a great nights sleep. Amazon.
Here is a neat solution. We had one of these in our first apartment. They are lightweight and easy to use. Great way to have seating but sleeping space as well. You can purchase this online at Walmart.
Here is a neat idea if you want to have more sleeping space but don’t want to change out your couch. You can get this at Walmart. It’s an ottoman that turns into a bed.
This idea was one I found and even thought about for added guests. It’s so thin it could easily fit underneath my couch for storage. Overstock.
Ever needed a place for a tiny child to sleep. Well look no further. Now there are folding cribs that exist. Not the little baby play pens of the past but an actual crib! Amazon. You can also purchase it with the mattress as well.
So my last section is just going to be a bunch of misc items that would work great for camping or full-time living in a RV/Camper/Trailer.
Here is a folding step stool that can store away flat when not in use. Great for those of us that are short and can’t reach the top cabinets in the rig. This particular one is sold by Camping World. Which I like better than my 1 step folding stool cause you can get higher up with it.
Bought an RV with just a shower and nowhere to bath a baby? Check out this folding baby tub by Target. By the way I just wanna say I LOVE Boon products! They are really well made and priced. Great for newborns and infants.
So here is another folding bath idea. You can purchase this on Amazon. It folds as well and is a good option for a small child such as a toddler.
I don’t know how many people actually iron either camping or full timing but I know it is called for upon certain occasions. So here is one that will save you some space. From Amazon.
So if you need something in the kitchen or on the fire that will save space check out this collapsible kettle from Amazon.
Walmart has this really neat collapsible rake for raking up those pesky fall leaves that cover your beautiful outside space. My neighbors have one and this is really a wonderful investment for sure!
Ever need just a little bit more elbow room in the shower? Well if you have a set up that allows to put up a curtain rod you should try this out from Amazon. It fold out when you need the space but folds back in towards the shower when you don’t. Comes in multiple colors too!
Ever in a situation where you needed a ladder but didn’t bring it because it was too bulky and there was nowhere to put it? Where fear not because now there is an extendable ladder that folds into itself to save a ton of space! Of course you can get it on Amazon.
Do your dogs have trouble getting up on the bed but the pet stairs you bought at the local store just take up too much space? Well these wooden pet stairs not only fold up for easy storage but can create a ramp for your pet instead. I have personally bought these for my little Tucker James and they are sturdy and are easy to assemble. From Amazon. They look nice too!
Last but not least….Curious about what furniture to have outside? Well I wound up meeting this guy through one of my FB groups who makes this line of furniture that’s able to be assembled and dis-assembled quickly with no tools. Also breaks down for easy storage. It’s called Slim Furniture. I sent out an email on it already but I figured I would share about it here as well.
So which product was your favorite? Did you see something you didn’t know ever existed? Thanks for checking out this post and make sure to leave a comment down below of your favorite product.
