So after the master bedroom makeover I wound up deciding to continue working my magic throughout the RV. My friend, who is also who I call the BOHO queen, is the one who inspired me. Here are a couple of examples of her house and the style she has. I am only showing you these photos because she is doing a guest post for me soon and I want to reveal the before and after photos in that post.
The second photo is what inspired me to at least re-paint the master bathroom. I fell in love with the color! And I thought that was all I was going to have to do to spruce it up. Well I was majorly wrong. A short while after I started re-painting Kelli invited me to join a FB group she and a few other ladies had started up. It’s called BoHome. That is where the obsession began. I started seeing Kelli’s house photos again and then other’s home photos. I got envious so all the sudden a light went off in my head. I could totally makeover the bathroom in a boho theme! So I got started. Here is the color that her laundry room is in case you decide you have a space you want to use it in. It’s even more stunning in person! Very rich and vibrant!
So on a Friday I went to our local Ace Hardware store. I got them to match the color in a satin finish in Valspar Aspire. I believe I had originally used Valspar Reserve on the walls the first time I painted. It only took me a little over an hour to get the walls finished. I jammed away to some 90’s pop tunes while I painted. It was a sight for sure. lol
Afterwards I decided the hardware needed to be updated. So I went back to Ace to pick up some copper spray paint. I found some but I couldn’t tell if it was more gold or copper in tone. It said it was copper! I just didn’t want to drive all the way to Home Depot, who I knew would have more options, just for spray paint. So I went ahead and used the color I picked out. It did turn out more gold as you can see in the photos but I actually love it. When you are going with a boho feel mixing metals is always a good thing! I have since gotten some decor (copper bell garland) to hang on the walls. I asked in the boho group if it would look ok if I had gold, oil rubbed bronze and copper all together in one space. They assured me it would look fine! I spray painted the sink faucet in oil rubbed bronze also. (Read HERE for the sink project) I was going to keep the metal shelf I had above the toilet at first but then I decided it didn’t go. That’s when the decorating ideas really began to flow. I found myself spending alot of time on Etsy and Ebay looking for decorations to go in my newly renovated tiny space. I also found a few decorations online from Hobby Lobby of course! So just FYI if your looking for vintage stuff Etsy and Ebay are the bomb! It can get a little expensive with all the added up shipping costs but in my opinion if you find something you LOVE it’s totally worth it. I also found a few things on Amazon. I LOVE that site! Very addictive!
I also decided the black cabinetry no longer went. It was too contrasting for the small space. So what did I do? I stripped all the paint off, sanded the cabinetry and stained it all so it would be brown again! I know I’m crazy like that! So here are the before and after photos of the room. I didn’t get a before photo of the corner but you can see in the panoramic photo what was there in the right hand corner before.
Pano shots of the room before with the orange and black then with the brown and blue.
I also wound up going to a few local Goodwill stores and scoring some really cool decorations. The fake greenery came from Amazon. Here are the links: Link 1, Link 2. I bought the wooden towel rack from Amazon as well.
The blue bottle is from Amazon and the q-tip holder is from Etsy.
Vintage rug circa 1950’s from Ebay.
Wall decor from Goodwill and vintage circa 1960’s wall towel ring from Etsy.
The macrame wall hanging I had made, also from Etsy. And the vintage towels I found on Ebay. I got them as a set. They are super nice because they are not as big and bulky, which I know some people like. I prefer smaller and light weight which these are. And the green tp holder is from Etsy.
Most of the things I have in that one corner like the little cat statue and tray are from Etsy. The wall decor is from Etsy, Goodwill and Hobby Lobby. The little wooden tray is from Amazon.
